Our Story

Working Towards a Better Tomorrow

Dealing with the challenges of today requires problem-solvers who bring different perspectives and are willing to take risks. The Texas A&M chapter of Global Legal Empowerment Brigades emerged out of a pursuit to inspire and support the global community, and a desire for actions to speak louder than words. Established in 2017, we’re an organization driven by progressive ideas, bold actions, and a strong foundation of support. 

We are an international movement of students and attorneys providing legal education and financial resources for vulnerable families to resolve legal challenges. We focus our work with individuals in remote, rural, and under-resourced communities who would otherwise have limited to no access to legal assets. Volunteers facilitate legal clinics with local lawyers to provide pro-bono consulting to community members. Our model systematically builds community ownership and collaboratively executes programs with the end goal of sustaining a relationship with the community once the brigade has ended.
